A huge explosion occurred on the morning of April 10 at about 8:30. It totally destroyed most of three buildings located on the East side of Juarez Street in the second long block. The force of the explosion was so strong that a total of 80 differrent businesses were impacted in one way or another. This event made the international news and resulted in over 1,000 people visiting the site of Shop-Progreso.com. This is not the kind of thing we like to have to bring us traffic.

A story about the explosion is to be found here. I also came across on the next day and took a number of pictures of the explosion site and some of them are shown below. Unfortunately, they wouldn't allow me to get very close to the site, so most of the pictures aren't very informative.

 
One of the businesses that was destroyed, including the death of two women who worked there, was The Dental Clinic, which had just opened this past January. Naty and Lupita, who are shown in the group photo, were the two victims of the explosion. Our regrets and prayers are extended to their families.
