Traffic Counts for Pedestrians -Southbound were up for months of January thru October of 2006 vs 2005 by 4.9%. Vehicles were virtually unchanged; down less than 1 percent. The data can be obtained in Adobe Acrobat format here. (Posted 11/14/06)

When comparing the months of November, December and January of this Winter Texan Season to last year's same period, we see that pedestrian crossings are up by 2.6%, while vehicle crossings are down by 3.5%. Go here to see data which was obtained from official government records.

Read about this fine organization, Mabel's Free Clinic Association, that works to bring dental and health care to poor children in the Nuevo Progreso area. If you are so inclined, get in touch and volunteer to work or donate essential funds to this group who are doing good works.

Perhaps you heard about the huge explosion that occurred near the Dental Clinic on Saturday morning, April 10. This is a story about the explosion with pictures. We regret that two of the women who work at the Dental Clinic, one of the sponsors of this site, were killed in the disaster.

I was interviewed for Channel 5's news coverage. The production was done by the Public Information Office at U.T.-Pan American and the story ran on Sunday night, February 15 and they had so many calls to get the URL they ran it over again on the 22nd and early on Monday the 23rd.
